Mortar Board National College Senior Honor Society Endorses Health Insurance Plan

- 10/1/2007 Since its founding in 1918, Mortar Board National College Honor Society has grown and evolved to match the needs of its student members, providing exclusive service and educational opportunities that only Mortar Board can offer.

In their quest to continually enhance and strengthen the existing membership benefit package, they have announced the endorsement of UnitedHealthcare StudentResources' affordable health insurance plan available exclusively to their student members.

Mortar Board has partnered with the marketing leader of student insurance products and services – UnitedHealthcare StudentResources -- to design and administer the plan.

Plan highlights include:

  • List item 1A maximum lifetime benefit for each injury or sickness of $250,000
  • Deductible amount of ONLY $200 per insured person per policy year
  • Access to any physician or hospital with no referral
  • Plan effective whether at school, home or while traveling
  • Available to both members and dependents
  • Flexible enrollment options

“We are excited to be able to offer such a quality student insurance plan to our members. The inclusion of the UnitedHealthcare StudentResources plan with the existing member benefits package will provide a safeguard to our members to help ensure that adequate health insurance is available when it’s needed most.”

“This will allow Mortar Board members to focus on coursework and their future … and not what to do if a medical emergency arises,” says Jon Cook, Executive Director.

August 22, 2007 will mark the start of the online enrollment period for this exclusive Mortar Board membership benefit. Additional enrollment and plan information will be available in the weeks ahead via electronic mail.

Policies 201744-1 & 201744-2 are underwritten by United HealthCare Insurance Company and United HealthCare Insurance Company of New York (in New York).
