Scholastic Emergency Services, an Assist America partner, announced last week that insured students can now access global medical referrals via text messaging when traveling 100 miles or more from their permanent home or campus address.
UnitedHealthcare StudentResources insured students could simply call SES’s 24/7 Operations Center to request medical referrals sent via text. Insured students would then receive a list of medical providers, hospitals or urgent care clinics nearest to their travel location. Having this pertinent information right at their fingertips would make it convenient for traveling students to plug an address into a GPS or show a taxi driver who doesn't speak their language how to easily get them to their destination.
